Higher Studies Cont.

I had posted a blog earlier on higher education. Basically on what i wanted to pursue. It has been more than a year since I had posted that and the good news is that I took up the course and completed it as well.

Wanted to take up a course which would help me with my career growth as well as learn something interesting. Another criteria was the time frame. The best option i found was the M.Sc(IT) course from Kuvempu university, Shimoga.

I got a lateral entry to the course as I have more than 3 yrs of experience in the IT industry. Just had to write an extra paper called the Bridge course ( had to study 4 main subjects from the 2nd sem).

The best part is that I completed all the papers including the bridge course and the project. But the sad part is that the university has missed out my assignment marks (114 marks) in the marks card and I am still awaiting for the corrected marks card from them. Its been 3+ months since i got my results.

My study center is SLN Correspondence college in jayanagar 8th block. Dont know if I am sounding very negative/pessemistic but the study Center is pathetic. They have not been of much help in this regard. Any time I ask them for the status, i get some vague reply, no definite answers. I even doubt if I can apply for the convocation this year :(

When I ask the study center the same, they say "enu madakke agalla madam, next year apply madikolli". To be frank I am not sure if the issue is with the study center or the university or who exactly is laid back here.

One more thing I have noticed is that as per the University website, we are not suppose to pay a single penny extra to the study center other than the usual course fee. But we are forcefully made to pay Rs. 1000/- extra per semester. When I raised this concern and mailed them, they immediately called up and said its a common thing across all study centers and they will give us prompt replies and would improve their service.

But no change noticed so far. :(

I dont have any contacts in the university to get it done from my end.
So I am kind of stuck here. Need to just wait till these guys get back to me :
