Long Drive

Last Saturday, I went out for a long drive on Mysore road with a friend of mine. We left in the afternoon may be around 3.30pm. The weather was awesome. Just then it has stopped raining and the sky still looked cloudy. Cool breeze outside.

We had no plans when we started; thought of stopping once we find a peaceful place. But as we proceeded, realized that there is no peaceful place on the road, everywhere it is only traffic and people. On either sides of the road, you will see shops or restaurants.

We stopped at Barista (Channapatna), picked up 2 takeaways and walked for a while till it started drizzling.
Right in front of Barista, there is a small shop which sells handicraft items like accessories, wooden toys, key chains, earrings, bangles etc; most of them made in Channapatna (this place is famous for its wooden toys) . My friend was interested in an ash tray that was for sale but the price was too high. He would have bought it for the same, but you know right, the typical girl mentality – bargain or look out for a shop which sells at a lesser price.

Another friend of mine is from Channapatna, so called her up and luckily she was there and not in Bangalore. She took us to a shop near by her house which sold all varieties of wooden toys and accessories.
Though we didn’t find an ash tray, we ended up buying a hell lot of other stuffs for the price of 1 ash tray sold in front of Barista. I think any one who goes to that shop will not come out empty handed. So many varieties of toys that it tempts us to buy all without regrets :)

It started raining when we started from there and we drove in the rain. It was nice experience. Me and my friend are birds of the same feather. 2 typical Geminis. We have a lot in common to speak and I don’t think we got bored. Planning for more such events for weekends and with more friends.
We are the same people who used to spend every weekend in MG road, Brigade road a few years ago and used to hang out with friends in pubs, malls, discs etc. The bills used to be in thousands but never kept a count of the money we spend.

Today things have changed. Most of our friends are married. We rarely get to hang out with them as they are busy with there families. And we don’t feel like going out in crowded places because of noise and hate to go inside the city because of traffic. We prefer calm and silent places and that are less crowded.
What is it, maturity or age or change in life style? Don’t know yet. Don’t even know how much more we will change. No wonder people say Change is constant.
